She loves cats! She secretly tells everyone that she really is a cat person (she doesn’t know that I know this). She wants a cat! Bad! She finally got dad to agree to us getting one. A few weeks ago our local news had nothing but stories about our shelters being overrun with cats and kittens. She pleaded her case and he finally caved in, only to back out of the deal and start making conditions, like:
“After you’re fully recovered from your surgery.”
“When you can carry a bag of kitty litter up four flights of stairs.”
“You’re going to break Dolly’s heart.”
Will she? I like cats, I even lived with one for a few months, the Lady thinks a kitty will be great company for me when she’s in the hospital. I’m not used to being home alone all day and I have separation anxiety. She says I’ll have someone to play with while she’s recuperating and can’t take me for walks. I am really going to miss our walks.
Well, dad doesn’t agree. He knows how possessive I am of her, I don’t like it when she pets other dogs. It’s because I follow her every where when she’s at home, I have to be right under her feet at the computer or in the same room as her. But that’s not always true. In the evenings she watches TV in her room and I stay in the living room with dad. I wouldn’t mind it if she has a kitty with her then.
So, we are putting this out to Blogville: Should Dolly have a kitty brother?
Please give us your advice and opinions in the comment section, then the Lady will email them to dad at work, one at a time, all the time. Even the ones that aren’t on our side.
